Two elementary schools have new names for 2026-27: Cesar Chavez is now Little Elm Elementary, and Lakeview is now Dr. Ashley B. Glover Elementary. And a Little Elm address doesn’t guarantee Little Elm ISD. Some neighborhoods are zoned to Frisco ISD or Denton ISD.

Little Elm High School
Home of the Lobos. Phase 1 of a bond-funded expansion is underway.
Strike and Walker
Lowell H. Strike Middle School and Jerry R. Walker Middle School both opened in fall 2020 after the 2017 bond. Strike sits in The Colony.
Zellars Early Childhood Learning Center
Full-day PreK for the district since 2023-24, in the former Zellars Elementary building.

What changed for 2026-27
- Two elementary renames. Cesar Chavez Elementary became Little Elm Elementary after a unanimous board vote on April 20, 2026. Lakeview Elementary became Dr. Ashley B. Glover Elementary, honoring a Little Elm graduate who taught in the district and later led its federal programs and accountability work.
- The eighth elementary is on hold. A $289.5 million bond planned two new elementary schools. Lakewood Village opened in 2025-26. The district says the next one was put on hold after enrollment declined.
- A smaller budget and an efficiency audit. The 2026-27 general fund budget is about $96.8 million, roughly $3.46 million less than 2025-26. The board hired MoakCasey for a voluntary efficiency audit in May, and the report went to the board in September.

Zones: Little Elm address, different district
This catches new families every year. Little Elm, the town, is served by three school districts. According to the Little Elm Economic Development Corporation, parts of town are zoned to Frisco ISD and Denton ISD, not just Little Elm ISD. And Little Elm ISD itself reaches past the town line, with campuses like Strike Middle School and Prestwick Elementary physically in The Colony.

- The board approved new elementary zones in December 2024, ahead of Lakewood Village opening, partly to relieve crowding at Oak Point.
For parents of kids heading toward braces
A school’s location ends up shaping the orthodontic schedule more than people expect, since visits happen on weekdays for the length of treatment. A few practical notes:
- Families at Strike or Prestwick often find The Colony office on Highway 121 easiest. Hackberry families tend to be closer to Frisco. Office-by-area guide.
