Little Elm Orthodontic GuideA local guide for families
Get started

The free orthodontic consultation, start to finish.

A lot of parents put off the first visit because they assume it ends in a sales pitch or a big number. Here’s what actually happens at Elate, so there are no surprises.

The short answer

The first visit at Elate Orthodontics is free and takes up to about an hour. You get digital scans and photos, an exam with Dr. Baharvand or Dr. Kang, every treatment option that fits, and exact pricing with your insurance broken down. If nothing needs doing yet, they’ll tell you that too.

What happens, in order

  1. Check-in. A quick welcome and a few questions about what brought you in.
  2. Digital records. Scans and photos. No goopy impression trays, which kids especially appreciate.
  3. The doctor exam. One of the two orthodontists looks at the bite, the jaws, and how things are developing, and explains what they see in plain terms.
  4. Options. Braces, clear braces, clear aligners, expanders, or simply waiting. Whatever actually fits the case.
  5. Pricing. The exact fee, what your insurance is likely to cover, and the payment options. Elate’s in-house plans carry no interest.

What to bring

  • Your dental insurance card, so the team can check orthodontic benefits.
  • For a child, a parent or guardian.
  • Records or a written quote from another orthodontist, if you have them.
  • The questions you actually care about. Write them down. Everyone forgets one.

Who it’s for

Kids around seven for a first check, teens, adults, and anyone who moved to Little Elm in the middle of treatment. If you’re new to the area and already in braces, this guide on transfers covers what to bring.

No referral is needed. You can book directly.

Second opinions are a normal reason to book

If another office recommended treatment and something about it doesn’t sit right, bring the plan. Sometimes the two recommendations agree and you just feel better about it. Sometimes the approach is different, and it’s useful to know why before you sign anything.

Fair questions for any consult, including this one: What’s the actual problem? What happens if we wait? What’s included in the fee? A clear answer to all three is a good sign.

Elate sometimes offers same-day start pricing at the consult. It’s an option, not a requirement. If you’d rather go home and think about it, that’s fine.
